Ruben Abstract

"Those who dive through their layers find they are unique."

Ruben Abstract is an artist with roots in both Madrid and the Canary Islands, blending the city's vibrant energy with the islands' tranquillity.

Initially known for his first collection, Swimmers, he is now celebrated for his UnderWater collection, a body of work that perfectly captures his current moment and his aspiration to further establish himself in the contemporary art world.

Ruben is self-taught, developing his skills through trial, error, and close observation. He loves the creative process, enjoying the evolution of his art as he uncovers new insights without outside guidance.

Ruben’s studio is in the heart of Madrid, where he also resides, and if you want to catch a glimpse of him, head to Retiro Park early in the morning, where he’s often found running. His journey continues to push the boundaries of Epoxy Resin Abstract Fine Art, revealing layers of depth and meaning.

About his art

Ruben Abstract’s Epoxy Resin Abstract Fine Art invites viewers to a journey within, where each layer in his work represents the unique experiences that make each person one-of-a-kind.

His UnderWater series embodies this vision, urging us to explore our inner layers and recognize our singular essence. Ruben believes, “Those who dive through their layers find they are unique.”

His Swimmers series also captures this search for personal meaning, with each piece featuring a swimmer going against the grain—a symbol of the pursuit we all feel toward dreams, change, and purpose.

His mastery over epoxy resin has placed him among the top artists in the field. Epoxy resin, which starts in a liquid state similar to water, is challenging to work with, requiring careful control to shape it into various forms, thicknesses, and depths. This technique, achieved by very few, allows him to create textured, multi-dimensional art that resonates deeply with viewers.

Ruben is determined to become a global reference in epoxy resin art. He consistently conveys his message of introspection and self-awareness, which he finds essential not only in his own life but also as a message he feels many people need in theirs.
